This feature class depicts Illinois roadways, as posted by IDOT.IRIS, structures, and railroad crossing feature classes can be linked together using the IDOT route system, comprised of the Inventory field and the begin/end station. CMAP has noted that the begin/end station distances do not necessarily match the length of the segment; re-stationing may be necessary. Also note that the Illinois Tollway uses a different route system than IDOT, so Tollway begin/end stations cannot be used on the IRIS shapefile. Re-stationing may be necessary to get a good match for any conflation process undertaken.The data is provided statewide. Subsets of the data can be used in data definition queries as follows:- Chicago Metropolitan Planning Area (MPA), approved by the MPO Policy Committee and the Governor of Illinois: MPO = '1051'- 15 counties in the state of Illinois that are within the CMAP transportation system modeling area: COUNTY = '004' OR COUNTY = '016' OR COUNTY = '019' OR COUNTY = '022' OR COUNTY = '032' OR COUNTY = '045' OR COUNTY = '046' OR COUNTY = '047' OR COUNTY = '049' OR COUNTY = '050' OR COUNTY = '052' OR COUNTY = '056' OR COUNTY = '071' OR COUNTY = '099' OR COUNTY = '101'Manuals with field definitions are posted at http://apps.dot.illinois.gov/gist2/ Metadata for this feature class was not embedded with the data but sent as a separate text file.
